Celebrating our 15th Anniversary - Part 1

 

The idea of starting a business to make our favorite Italian artisans known far and wide came to us in the summer of 2006 under a wisteria-shaded pergola in the Umbrian countryside. We were enjoying a hearty Italian meal served on colorful Deruta dinnerware, and the simple beauty of the moment got us thinking: why not share these treasures with like-minded Italian ceramic lovers?

 

 

The most exciting part of the project was finding new artisans to add to our list of favorites. Starting from Deruta (of course!), we drove on to Gubbio and Montelupo, and finally, flew to Sicily. We came back from our mission having teamed up with 10 artisans!

 

 

Looking back, we wonder how we tackled all that we did! We put together a portable photo studio and went to each artisan's atelier, taking pictures of thousands of ceramic pieces. We designed and learned how to manage the website, wrote all its contents in a language that wasn’t our native tongue, and faced technological and digital challenges. Just the two of us! To be fair, back then technology was more approachable for absolute beginners like us.

 

 

The website went live in September 2007. How time flies when you are having fun!
The past 15 years have been a whirlwind of ups (many), downs (a few - it's called life), laughter, hard work, and happy encounters. So many things have changed but one: our unwavering enthusiasm for what we do.

 

 

When we think of our accomplishments, we think of people: the ARTISANS who have trusted us and are now family. ROBERTA, who is an irreplaceable part of our team and contributes unwavering positivity and meticulous efficiency daily.

 

 

And, finally, but most importantly, our WONDERFUL CUSTOMERS!
YOU are at the center of everything we do. Our pride and joy is the special relationship we have built with our customers over the last 15 years. We love every project you entrust us with, your enthusiastic feedback, and the memories you share with us.
