Istoriato is a style of decoration on Italian Renaissance pottery that features a painted scene, usually of a mythical, historical, or biblical subject, executed with a realism quite unlike any previous pottery decoration.
The urn is entirely handpainted by Francesca Niccacci, an internationally renowned artisan from Deruta.
