Descriptions & details

Arabesco dinnerware exudes a cheerful enjoyment of life. It has been challenging time and decor trends for four centuries, delighting generations of Italian pottery lovers.
The origins of the Arabesco design are uncertain, possibly dating back to the Persian calligraphic style from the 17th century. Yet, it is as fresh as a daisy and equally at ease in a contemporary or a classic setting.
Our Arabesco tableware and kitchenware collections are hand-painted following an ancient method. Each element of the design is first painted in color and then outlined with a hair-thin brush.
If you like mixing & matching, you can choose items from the Arabesco Classico and the Arabesco Semplice to create unique combinations for your table and kitchen.

The artist

Founded in 1960, FIMA is a family-run business in Deruta. Its excellent, well-deserved reputation is mainly due to its traditional Deruta dinnerware, such as Raffaellesco, Ricco Deruta, and Arabesco. Indeed, they are among the finest you can find in Deruta, thanks to their intricate, carefully hand-painted details and loyal adherence to the traditional colors and techniques. However, FIMA has created many original designs that have become classics in their own right.

Deruta is a small town in Umbria, in the heart of Italy. It has been one of the most vital centers for the production of Italian ceramics since the Renaissance (15th century). Today, Deruta is highly regarded worldwide for the fine quality and beauty of its pottery.
