RAMPINI
Italian ceramic art is a family affair
The Rampinis are well-known for their sophisticated, elegant ceramic dinnerware and home décor accents. Their signature collection, Rinascimento, features a textured, distinctive design carefully handpainted in various color combinations.
Rampini's art is a family business. Founded by Pietro Rampini in 1954, the workshop is now run by his daughter-in-law Rossana and his granddaughter Giulia. Each artist creates and paints their own ceramics. Their styles are different, though both are rooted in the local artistic tradition.
We have handpicked for you an exquisite selection of Rampini's pottery, which reflects their taste for elaborate, Renaissance and nature-inspired designs available in various colors. Choose the own that fits your style or get creative and commission the artists with your exclusive color combination.
A passion for Gubbio ceramics
Eugubino means "from Gubbio," the town where generations of Rampinis have chosen to live and cultivate their art.
Gubbio is not just a picturesque, charming medieval town; it has been a hub for arts and crafts since Roman times, providing a sanctuary for many prominent artists.
The Rampinis take great pride in upholding the traditions and culture of Gubbio, with their work contributing to its present and future heritage.
The ceramic art studio was founded by Pietro Rampini in 1954. His son, Giampietro, learned to paint long before he learned to write. He and his wife, Rossana, shared the same studio for decades, each focusing on their own work. Rossana is quiet and has an easy smile, while Giampietro was outgoing and always eager to discuss art and the cultural landscape of Gubbio. Their daughter, Giulia, is an art graduate from the University of Perugia. She now manages the studio, maintaining the family traditions while also contributing to its growth and development.
For many years, the Rampinis have contributed their art to the Race of the Saints, a spectacular event held in Gubbio every year on May 15th. Giampietro Rampini was the official maker of the Brocche dei Ceri, the traditional jugs used in the Race. A smaller-scale version of the Race of the Saints is held in Jessup, Pennsylvania, which has a large community of people from Gubbio. This event takes place on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
