Geometric pottery is ideal both for a classic and a modern home décor style.
Sometimes its intricate patterns are purely abstract, more often they are inspired by nature such as the peacock’s tail, the oak leaf, the lily and the daisy flowers.
Italian geometric designs were originally inspired by Islamic majolica, imported in Europe in the 14th century. However they soon acquired their distinctive character and became very popular during the Italian Renaissance, both as central elements of the decoration and as ornamental frames to descriptive scenes or portraits.
The colors of geometric ceramics are always bright and vibrant, easy to complement with solid colored items or – that’s what we recommend! - to mix and match in order to create unique decoration accents.
