In Vietri the artist learnt most of the pottery making techniques and met the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thatsarte.com\/blog\/highlights\/the-sudden-joy-of-a-close-encounter-with-vietri-pottery-art\/#more-849\" target=\"_blank\">German ceramic artists who had settled in the city and were to revive its fame<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1938 he founded his own workshop \u201cI due fornaciari\u201d in Naples, together with Romolo Vetere, a fellow artists and sculptor. A most important experience for Macedonio, who focused his talents on pottery sculptures and large panels.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a title=\"Italian Ceramics - Green World by Giuseppe Macedonio \" href=\"https:\/\/www.thatsarte.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GiuseppeMacedonio-MondoVerde.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2186\" style=\"margin-left: 8px; margin-right: 8px;\" title=\"Italian Ceramics - Green World by Giuseppe Macedonio \" src=\"https:\/\/www.thatsarte.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GiuseppeMacedonio-MondoVerde.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thatsarte.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GiuseppeMacedonio-MondoVerde.jpg 513w, https:\/\/www.thatsarte.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/GiuseppeMacedonio-MondoVerde-278x300.jpg 278w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/a>During the 50\u2019s he won considerable acclaim, both in Italy and abroad, and he was commissioned to produce many public art projects in Naples: the Fountain of the Esedra at the\u00a0 Mostra d\u2019Oltremare (1950-54), the architectural panels and the monumental majolica decorations that accent many buildings in the most relevant streets of the city.<\/p>\n<p>His pottery absorbed the key art trends of his time and, in the Sixties and Seventies, Macedonio works became very experimentalist, both in terms of glazes and iconographical subjects.
