Fangotto is the ancient Sicilian name for a plate made of clay. It probably comes from “fango” the Italian name for mud.
It’s hand painted by Giacomo Alessi, one of the most admired ceramic artists in Italy. His exhibitions are always very successful and his art pieces are very well appraised.
All his pottery is full of poetry. Myths, wars, legends, human virtues and vices are the vital material of his ceramic Art, with the colors and the vitality of the Sicilian Baroque.
He says about his work: “I translate tradition into something new. I searched, gathered and re-invented in my own way the Baroque heritage. It makes my fantasy fly until everything becomes movement, human and animal spirit”.
Ready to be hanged, the Fangotto comes in three different sizes you may choose amongst: small, medium and large.
