This ceramic wall and floor tile is entirely hand painted by Vincenzo Scardino, who is the co-founder of Ghenos together with his brother Ivan. This studio is well known to Italian Interior Designers for its Sicilian architectural pottery, often combined with woodwork.
Vincenzo Scardino is fond of Baroque and Istoriato designs from Sicilian art heritage, that he thoroughly researches and creatively blends with his own themes.

Called “mattonaccio” in the local language, the tile itself is handmade. The production process is responsible for its uneven surface and imperfections, which add to its character and beauty. It’s about ½ inch thick and it comes with two holes on the back, ready to be hanged.

Product availability: 3/4 weeks.
Product information: Tiles made by Ghenos are to be used for decoration purpose only. Tiles for panels, murals and table tops are numbered on the back and run from left to right, top to bottom. Their installation can be a Do-It-Yourself project, although we recommend a professional tile setter.  It is not mandatory to grout tiles, unless in a shower application. However, grouting will contribute to the uniformity of the surface.
