A new, adorable basket by Giacomo Alessi, inspired by Greek mythology. In Greece the owl, and specifically the Little Owl was often associated with Athena, the goddess of wisdom, arts and skills.
Giacomo is one of the most admired ceramic artists in Italy. His exhibitions are always very successful and his art pieces are very well appraised.
His work is full of poetry. Myths, wars, legends, human virtues and vices are the vital material of his ceramic Art, with the colors and the vitality of the Sicilian Baroque.
Giacomo says about his work: “I translate tradition into something new. I searched, gathered and re-invented in my own way the Baroque heritage. It makes my fantasy fly until everything becomes movement, human and animal spirit”.
Each basket is hand made, therefore please allow for some slight changes in the look of the owls.
