A unique set of 2 book ends by Giacomo Alessi, inspired by Greek mythology: dolphins were the messengers of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea. Spotting dolphins riding in their wake was considered a good omen for a smooth sea voyage.
Giacomo is one of the most admired ceramic artists in Italy. His exhibitions are always very successful and his art pieces are very well appraised.
His work is full of poetry. Myths, wars, legends, human virtues and vices are the vital material of his ceramic Art, with the colors and the vitality of the Sicilian Baroque.
