This charming footed bowl was hand painted by Giacomo Alessi in honour of “Il Gattopardo" (The Leopard), one of the most important Sicilian novels in Italian literature.
Giacomo is one of the most admired ceramic artists in Italy. His exhibitions are always very successful and his art pieces are very well appraised.
All his pottery is full of poetry. Myths, wars, legends, human virtues and vices are the vital material of his ceramic Art, with the colors and the vitality of the Sicilian Baroque heritage.
He says about his work: “I translate tradition into something new. I searched, gathered and re-invented in my own way the Baroque heritage. It makes my fantasy fly until everything becomes movement, human and animal spirit”.
